I'm so glad you're here. This is the place where I'll be sharing a little bit of everything — from the joys and challenges of motherhood, to fun DIY projects, travel adventures, and so much more. I hope you find inspiration, helpful tips, and a sense of community as we explore all of these wonderful things together!
Summertime is my absolute favorite time because we get to travel and try out new places with hubs! We spent a couple of days in Waco, Texas recently and we loved it. I wanted to share a few places we went to and enjoyed during our trip.
Waco is not a very far drive for us (about 2 hours) so this is definitely a place we can visit often. It has so many neat things to do! For this trip we wanted to mainly focus on visiting some good food spots (my hubby and I are both foodies)! We also stayed in the cutest tiny home which was such a wonderful experience.
Home Sweet Tiny Home
Within our bucket list was a tiny home stay. If you visit Waco and are looking at Airbnb stays, I highly recommend the tiny house that we stayed in (I’ll link it below).
The tiny home we stayed in is located about 15 minutes from the Magnolia Silos and it was everything I could’ve ever imagined. When we arrived it was extremely clean and it was equipped with everything you could need for a weekend getaway. There was a full kitchen with a microwave, a fridge, a Keurig (I can’t live without coffee), pots/pans, a burner, silverware/dishes and our hosts even had coffee and sugar for us to use. The bathroom had a full shower, sink, and even new toothpaste/toothbrushes waiting for us. There was also a living room with a tv, and the bedroom was so cozy and had linens and pillows. This house was tiny but definitely mighty!

Magnolia Market at the Silos
Everything about Magnolia is absolutely perfect. From the home decor, to the food trucks, to the sweet tea (best sweet tea I’ve ever had), to all the shops – you can spend an entire day at Magnolia exploring. Joanna Gaines is perfection and is one of my home decor inspirations. The Magnolia Silos is a MUST when you come to Waco, and it’s my favorite place. We have been a few times in the past, but every time I visit I am blown away and I find something new.
Guess Family Barbecue
We found the yummiest barbecue place about 10 minutes from the Magnolia Silos and we can 100% say it was the best barbecue we have ever had. We got the baby back ribs and the cheddar sausage links. Oh man, my mouth is watering just thinking about them and let me tell you – the ribs fell off of the bone and the cheesy sausage was to die for. We will be going back there to eat again!
Dr. Pepper Museum
Hubs and I love Dr. Pepper so much and when we saw this museum in Waco we HAD to stop there. Reservations are not required which makes it super easy for a spontaneous visit! The museum has lots of fun things to do with your family and we also got to learn about the history of Dr. Pepper! Did you know that Dr. Pepper is made from adding 26 different syrups together?! I had no idea. After we were done at the museum we went over to the building next door where we got to create out own Dr. Pepper float. It was delicious!
Gerik’s Ole Czech Bakery
On our way out of Waco we had to make a stop at Gerik’s Ole Czech Bakery right off the highway and it did not disappoint! We got a few things from the menu that were to die for, like the kolaches, the pastries, and the giant cinnamon rolls (pictured). They were so good we took a little bit of everything home to enjoy throughout the week! Gerik’s is located about 20 minutes from the Silos, and if you are leaving Waco and going north, this is the perfect pit stop to make!
We had such a fun trip and cannot wait to go back again and explore more of Waco! I hope this helps when you are planning your own trip.
Let me know in the comments if there are any places or things in Waco you recommend me doing!
With love,
Andrea Vowels
